Titration method 0614 of the 2025 Edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia


The dropping point refers to the lowest temperature at which a test sample reaches a certain fluidity when heated under specified conditions.

According to the different properties of the test samples, the determination methods are divided into the following two types. Where not specified in the main text of each variety, the first method shall be referred to.

Metal grease cup, as shown in Figure 1: made of chrome-plated copper, with a wide mouth inner diameter of 9.64 to 10.16mm, a wide mouth outer diameter of approximately 10.7mm, a narrow mouth inner diameter of 2.8 to 3.0mm, a narrow mouth outer diameter of approximately 4.8mm, and a cup height of 12.0 to 12.2mm.
